Couponing 101: The Rules of the Game

Today we are continuing the series Couponing 101. If you have missed the previous posts, make sure you check them out here.

Today we are talking about the “Rules of the Game”. Yes, there are actually rules to couponing. Don’t worry, they are very simple! If you ever have a question about coupons or how to use them, I suggest you read the Coupon Information Center page. They have even recently updated their page to accommodate all the “craziness” that has come with the TLC Extreme couponing. They have a TON of great information.

Here are the 3 big “No-No’s”.

  1. Do not photocopy coupons -not any of your coupons (paper or printable).
  2. Only use a coupon for the product written on the coupon. Each coupon is a contract and should be used only for the item described in writing on the coupon itself. (remember, it is the words that are important)
  3. Do not buy coupons -When you buy coupons, you could be purchasing stolen or counterfeit coupons. Since you cannot be 100% sure that they are legitimate coupons, you just shouldn’t do it.

There are several more suggestions on the Coupon Information page. They even have an Etiquette section now. :)

Make sure to check out all the posts on Couponing 101 here.

Stay tuned for the next post…
