CVS Coupons ???

Are the CVS coupons really worth anything?

I’ve had several questions regarding the 3.00 off 15.00 purchase and the 4.00 off 20.00 purchase.   Many readers have stated they don’t get to use these because they rarely spend that much in one trip. Remember, the $4.00 off of $20.00 is BEFORE coupons. This is a common misconception , so let me clarify, as these turn good deals into great deals. One example from this week.

3 Nivea for 15.00
Use 4.00 off 2 Coupon
Use 2.00 off 1 coupon
Total: 9.00 out of pocket
less 5.00 ECB
net cost 4.00
Not the best deal: 1.33 per bottle

And now for the 3.00 off coupon provided by CVS, some are understand this as can’t be used because the total is 9.00 but the total before coupons are applied is 15.00 , which means the coupon is valid. Present this coupon first, then give your other coupons. The result looks like this

3 Nivea for 15.00

Use 3.00 off 15.00 purchase , cvs coupon
Use 4.00 off 2 coupon
Use 2.00 off 1 coupon
Total: 6.00 out of pocket
less 5.00 ecb
Total cost is just 1.00 for three
GREAT DEAL: 33 cents each!

Many times you can add a small item to push your total to the 15 or 20 mark so you can use these coupons and still save more money. If it is a very good week, where you might spend 40.00 before coupons, you should divide your shopping into two transactions if you have two of the 4.00 off coupons.

The last thing: Be sure to scan your card each time you go into CVS before you shop and get your printed coupons. Sometimes, you can get some very good ones. Plus, don’t forget that coupons are also printed at the bottom of your receipt.

If you have a good story about how you saved, send me a note through the contact page so everyone can share their savings!

Happy Shopping
