Homemade Pizza Sauce Recipe – Save 75% off or more without using coupons!

My kids and I have been making our own pizza sauce for a while now. My family and I love to make pizza, and I finally “figured” out an actually recipe. It is easy to make and it tastes GREAT! In fact, we are making some tomorrow for Valentines Day – Heart shaped pizza ofcourse. 😉

You don’t have to chop anything or even cook it. In my mind, simple is always better – I always save some to freeze for the freezer. That way it is ready to go when we want to make a quick pizza, or bubble up pizza.

Homemade Pizza Sauce

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Total Time: 5 minutes

Homemade Pizza Sauce

  • 1 28 ounce can of crushed tomatoes or tomato sauce(or 2 14 oz cans)
  • 2 teaspoons of dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp sugar (you could probably do 1 tsp)
  • 1/2 tsp of onion powder
  • 2 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 2 tsp garlic salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper

  1. Pour the crushed tomatoes in a bowl.
  2. Add in the seasonings and stir to combine.
  3. It is officially ready to spoon onto your homemade pizza! It really is that easy!
  4. This makes the equivalent to 2 jars of pizza sauce. Just freeze the left overs in baggies or in plastic containers.

How to freeze it:

This pizza sauce freezes great! You can freeze it in little containers or in baggies. Just allow it to thaw and you are ready to use it for your delcious homemade pizza!

How frugal is it?

Pizza sauce on sale costs around $1 per jar or more. I paid full price for a 28 oz can of Crushed tomatoes once for $.89. It makes enough for 2 -4 pizza.  That means this pizza sauce full price costs about $.25 per pizza to make!! That is a HUGE savings!

If you use coupons and sales, you can get 14 oz cans of tomatoes for as low as $.10 (or even free). That means your savings would be even more. woohoo!

What are you waiting for? Go make some pizza!
