Saving Star – A New Way to Save on your Grocery Bill!

There is a new  way to save on your Grocery bill and it’s called Saving Star. This is a different way to save! I have had several people ask me about it and I am finally taking the time to post about it. I am pretty excited about this new way of saving!

Saving Star offers clip-less eCoupons that you can upload to your shopper cards. (Here locally we can do CVS and Homeland) What makes this different is that you will not see the savings come off of your total at checkout, but instead it will build up in your Savingstar account. Once you reach $5 in savings, you can cash out into your Paypal account.

To get started, simply sign up. (It’s free!) Then add your shopper card numbers to your account, then upload “coupons” to use at the store.

Here are a few of the current coupons that you can add to your account:

Buy 1 Purina ONE® Dog Food 4 lb or larger, Save $2.00
Buy 1 Purina ONE® Cat Food 3.5 lb or larger, Save $2.00
Buy 1 NO YOLKS, Save 40¢
Buy 1 WACKY MAC Veggie Pasta, Save 40¢
Buy 1 WACKY MAC & Cheese Dinner, Save 40¢
Buy 2 Elmer’s School Glue, Glue-All or Glue Sticks, Save 75¢

Since these savings accummulate into your SavingStar account they can be combined with manufacturer coupons for even greater savings.  So go on and sign up for Saving Star right now to start accumulating savings. I just signed up! I will definitely keep you updated on how it is going.

This may be a stupid question, but how do you know and keep track of what you have on your cards?

    • SavingStar - July 12, 2011 @ 11:45 am

Hi D – After you select your eCoupons, you can click the email or print list button at the top of your coupon list on the right side of the page. If you have an iPhone or Android, you can also download our app. Thanks, Josh

upload to your phone?? Or is it a card?

    • SavingStar - July 12, 2011 @ 11:46 am

      Hi Sabrina,

If you type in your zip code you can see which stores participate near you. You can then register the store loyalty cards from those supermarkets or drugstores. Thanks, Josh

When you sign up you enter the store card#. When you use your cards at the store’s it will show up on your Saving Star account. Pretty easy.

I just signed up! Cant wait to save :) I had it send me an email of the coupons I selected so I would have easy access to them and won’t forget. That was easy.

So, to use SavingStar I need to have a paypal account?

  • Patricia - July 23, 2011 @ 9:58 pm

Can you use the SavingStar program and still use coupons the same way we’re learning about at your Coupon Closet, within the same transaction? Even if we have physical (but different) coupons on the same items that we have a SavingStar coupon for? That would be wild! :)

I used my card at Weis 2 weeks ago, and the savings haven’t showed up yet. How long does it usually take??
