Thank you for all you do! You have made shopping a true adventure and GAME!!!
Hey Melia- Cecily Smith and Sabrina Martin are selling $5 Homeland coupon books for their 6th grade footbll team you should check it out!! it has $50 woth of coupons which double to $100 and a $5 off $50 or more from Homeland and they are good coupons!!!! She will have them at practice tonight!!! =)
How do I get one of these I had one last year and now live out in country and no one I know is selling them. Thanks
Are these coupon books still available?
FYI,
The Homeland located on 33rd & Boulevard in Edmond only doubles coupons for ONE like item! And you can’t use coupons in a self-serve register (I don’t like them anyway’s but thought I would use it since I only had 4 items).
For example, if you planned to buy 4 Osc Meyer Carving Meats and had 4 $1 coupons, you would only receive $5 deducted and you must have a cashier ring you up.
Happy Shopping!
You have to do multiple transactions to get the double value on each coupon. So buy all the things you have coupons for, thenmake another transaction for more of the same and so on.
Homeland off of 40W in Yukon said they no longer allow mulitple transactions. You have to get back in line if you want to split transactions. I go to a different one now and they are MUCH nicer about the double coupons and multiple transactions.
Just thought I would mention it.

Carrie,
I am venturing to my first coupon outing tomorrow night, and am planning my list! We shall see how the first trip goes =). One question ~ on Homeland’s website, they have the “coupon” page. It appears that these are their coupons? Do we print these to stack with the manufacturer coupons, or are these just the weekly deals? Sorry, Just a little confused, and want to make sure I plan accordingly. Thank you!
Those coupons are generally just manufacturer coupons like you would get on other sites, so you can’t “stack” them. thanks and good luck! Let us know how you do.
I had a terrible experience at the Homeland on 104th and Penn and I and will defintely not be shopping there with my internet coupons anymore. I had printed several and towards the end of my printing my printer was running low on ink so my last two coupons were slightly faded in some areas. (I also had about 10 newspaper coupons) When I got to Homeland I brought it to my cashiers attention and just asked if I could still use them ( I wanted to be upfront and honest, but I also didn’t want to waste them if I didn’t have to). One of them scanned but the other one didn’t. She called her manager over who was about 40ish, male, and 5’9. He looked at the one that wouldn’t scan and said “Ma’am we don’t take photocopied coupons.” I didn’t get ugly or anything, but calmly told him that my printer was low on ink and that I didn’t want them to break any sort of policy or anything, I simply didn’t know if I could use them. He just kept repeating “This is what happens when you try to use photocopied coupons.”!! He was soo rude and I was stunned at how unprofessional he was. I just gave them all their food back and left.
Just thought I’d let you know that I went to the Homeland at 33rd and Broadway -and had the same type of problems.
The guy that checked me out what an older man, but obviously a very new employee. He couldn’t do anything without help from someone. I had two transactions, both with coupons. First transaction had maybe 5-6 coupons and had only that many items, but it was the biggest ordeal I have ever seen.
They kept making comments about how long it was going to take because of all the coupons. I hadn’t even put my other stuff on the belt yet, so they had no idea what else I was purchasing. There was no one else anywhere close to checking out when I got up there. As they were discussing everything several people came to check out. Because the guy checking me out was taking sooooo long, they had to open another register! Imagine that! But they were making rude comments about having to do it because of all the coupons that I had – like it was my fault!
This guy basically accused me of copying coupons (they were internet coupons which I pointed out to him, not copies), but finally decided to take them. They were extremely picky about overages, etc. The young kid helping this guy was really rude and had the worst attitude about everything! He was very loud and made a big production at the front of the store about my purchases and ALL my coupons. Everyone at the front of the store saw and heard what was going on.
It took forever to get the first transaction done. I ended up owing them $1.08, but it really should have been $.08. They did not double a coupon that they should have because “then they’d be giving me more money than I was paying for the item and they can’t do that!” I politely showed him their coupon policy and said that they really should double it, but decided I just wasn’t going to fight for that extra dollar at that point with the way things were going. The second transaction was even worse because I had more items and coupons! Second transaction was close to $15, but it should have been less too!
All this to say – I will never set foot in that particular store EVER again. The store is set up funny anyway so it’s hard to find things. And the rudeness and unprofessionalism of this one particular young man was just appalling.
If those are the types of people that they hire and the management puts up with that type of behavior, I will find another store to make my purchases where they don’t have a problem with my coupons and the employees are much friendlier and more courteous!
I have had wonderful experiences at the Homeland on 2nd and Santa Fe. They are always very nice and know how to handle coupons. Never a problem.
That said, I have recently read that the Homeland coupon policy has changed. They will now only double one “like” coupon per FAMILY per day. (no more doing 2 transactions while there, although I don’t know how this would work with going to more than 1 store, or if the stores are even aware of the new coupon policy yet themselves.) No longer will they give Overages, instead the coupon will be adjusted down.
I shop at the store off 29th st in Del City I’ve only had one bad experience but other than that they have been very nice, and excited in my savings with me. Went yesterday and two ladies helped me, new employee and manager both very nice. I hope you have a better experience next time.
I agree they are all very nice in Del City. One of the cashiers is even a couponer. So maybe she has educated them there. LOL however the first time I used my recycle bag two of the very young people looked very confused about me using it. LOL
A similar experience happened to me at Walmart. I print my coupons on the backs of the ads from other coupons. He looked at it and said this looks like it’s been copied. The manager came over and said the same thing. I explained what I did. It was a humiliating experience. I called corporate and then the store and talked to a manager. They sent me a $40 gift card for the experience. I told them they should never accuse someone of doing something illegal or unethical. If they had just told me they couldn’t accept the coupon, I would have been okay with that. Being told I did something bad, tipped the scale!
Can we prit the coupons all in black instead of using so much color ink?
I use black and white all the time and they don’t care. As long as the barcode comes out fine and you can read the print.
Most definitely!!!
Thsi may sound stupid but what is a “thunder coupon”?
When you go the The Oklahoma City Thunder Basketball games the free programs that they give you have Homeland coupons in them for $5 off a $25 purchase.
I was wondering that to.
I have a question about the Thunder coupons. I was checked out by a manager on Saturday at the Homeland on SW104th and Penn. Let’s just say it was a very different experience than my other trips and I felt bad for using coupons. Anyway, she told me the Thunder coupon had to be scanned after all my other coupons AND my subtotal still had to be at above $25. From reading this blog, it looks like this is different than what others are doing when their total is less than $20 after the coupon. Can someone please clarify this for me? By the way, thank you coupon closet for the Thunder coupons!
Ok, I answered my own question while I was looking at the coupon policy in response to the recent posts. The policy says “For in-store coupons valued at a flat dollar amount off total purchase, the specified total purchase must be attained after all other coupons and discounts have been applied.” So the manager was right regarding the Thunder coupons. It gets scanned last and your subtotal still must total $25 or more.
That super stinks. My Homeland never scans my Thunder coupon last…. but maybe that’s because I always hold my coupons just handing over the Thunder & my card. Then once they have scanned it I hand over my Mfg coupons. I did not know that was the policy…. OOPS. Hope they don’t start doing that to me.
i have used over 20 thunder coupons in the last 2 months and i have NEVER been told that. i even made a point to tell one cashier to be sure and use it first and just to prove a point he did it last just to show me it works either way. if they were for 25 after coupons i’m sure there wouldn’t be many used! for hardcore couponers that would be hard to do.
I went on my first outing since your class at Emmaus. By the way, I am taking a group from Minco to your Yukon class!! I went to the Homeland on SW 104th and Penn. I put my coupons on the items. The cashier checked me out and then said he had forgotten to scan the coupons. He said that typically he is given the coupons after the groceries have been scanned. I SMILED and said that I had heard otherwise. I asked how we could make this right. He sent me to customer service as the sacker went to pick up a forgotten item. The customer service representative scanned in the coupons and the forgotten item. He gave me cash back! I was still smiling and told him how much I appreciated his willingness to help me! Can’t wait to see what this week brings. I plan on asking the cashier how they would like to get the coupons!
Hey Rana, I go to Homeland on SW 104 and Penn all the time, and always give my coupons first, MOST of the cashiers just set them to the side, I have yet to have someone scan all of them first! I think just handing them over shows that your honest and your not trying to pull any sneaky stuff! I have had a few cashiers that have been testy and rude but all in all I have had good experiences at this Homeland! I did try to trust my husband to get us some toothpaste the other day with a $1.00 coupon that would double and he came back with the toothpaste but said he had to pay $1.50…I almost scalped him!!! Take it back!!! they didn’t do it right!!! LOL…learned my lesson…I do all the couponing now!!
I have been printing coupons from http://www.coupons.com, but they are printing in color. How can I print them in B&W. Thanks !
Bea,
You will need to change the setting in your printer properties to “print using black ink only.” Printing out coupons will really go through the color ink so black only is the best way to go!
I just went to the Homeland on 33rd and Broadway in Edmond and was told the new manager will only allow you to do one transaction per day per family. I had a coupon for Kraft Philidelphia Creme Cheese Cooking Creme and Kraft Sliced Cheese. Just the two items. She said I could not use two coupons that were the same in the same transaction and allow the second one to double. I calmy stated those were two different coupons and the cashier said they were not. She said since they were both Kraft, they would be counted as the same coupon even though they were for seperate items. Has anyone else had this problem?
I just had the same thing happen to me! When I asked if I left and came back to get my other stuff she was very snotty and said “NO, that’s the rules!!!!” I was like ok whatever you can put my other stuff up! I am so mad homeland is tge only place in my town to shop that doubles coupons and because people do 10-12 transactions at a time they ruin it for the rest of us! I have 3 kids and do not have time to go to the store everyday to get what I need to stick up on for my family. What’s the big deal anyway they r getting reimbursed right?
How do I get the code to print the Healthy Choice Meals?
last week they had coupons in their paper you could stack with manuf. coupons, this week there are only manuf coupons in their paper. You just have to read the top of the coupon to see what it says. There are a few coupon on their site now that say instore web coupons and you can stack manuf. coupons with those.
Remember this week is bogo items, but just buy ONE and use one coupon for the best deal. If you buy two then use two coupons then ONLY one of those coupons will double.
This may sound odd, but it’s better that we have a ‘bad’ experience dealing with them as opposed to them with us. We want them to like us!!! because if they don’t they start changing policy!! Like the recent change limiting your transactions to ONE. It is true that they do not accept copied coupons as that is counterfitting… this is why a coupon has a value of .001 cents or whatever, that way it does have a monetary value and if you copy it, felony.
Anyway, YOU didn’t copy the coupon, it was just a bad print job that made it look like a copy. Just use that as a learning experience and smile! You will be saving buckets of money as long as they don’t change the policy any further. I always print my coupons at high resolution and although color is optional, I still have this thought in my mind that it has to look legit (since it is) and it’s worth the .02 cents worth of ink to make it look good in case I run into a cashier that might not understand that there is no need to defraud anyone with so many great coupons out there.
We ‘coopin’ers’ are good people.. we want them to love us! Whatever the issue while checking out, SMILE! You are saving a ton of money regardless of one coupon issue!
i shop at homeland in shawnee and now they have a policy that if you have more than 5 coupons, you must tape coupon to your item(s) before checking out.
Homeland in Pryor has a coupon policy change. We now also have to tape coupons to each item when you used over 5 coupons.
I have the ‘low-down’ on the coupon policy change at the Penn Homeland.
The cashier told me that there are some ‘coupon people’ that are making 5 trips per day even more. It is because of these ‘greedy’ people that they have now made it to where if they see you come in more than once per day with coupons they will refuse to let you use them. As per their policy for a very long time, they have the right to do limit what coupons can be used by whom. This is also the reason for the multiple transaction change.
Homeland is trying to spread the savings around even if other coupon users out there don’t want to play nice. Pretty nice of Homeland I say.
So, If you are one of those ‘greedy’ coupon people who thinks this site and these deals are only for YOU and no one else should get them, SHAME ON YOU!! You are the reason for the policys getting tougher for the rest of us who like everyone to share in the savings.
my 2 cents… someone had to say it.
I agree with Michael. There is absolutely no reason to be that greedy or extreme!
Using coupons allows you to get items on the cheap, that doesn’t mean you should adopt a get all you can attitude! If it continues you shouldn’t complain when the coupon policy gets more drastic. We should be thankful we can benefit from using coupons instead of abusing the use of coupons!!
The Homeland in Chickasha is great, the workers are always nice. They are sometimes out of the sale products , but they do not mind giving rainchecks. It is my favorite place to shop.
Thunder coupon usage info.
On a trip to Homeland on Penn my cashier told me (after I handed her the thunder coupon) that I had to give her my other coupons first THEN if the total is over 25.00 I could use the thunder coupon for the extra 5.00 off. I told her that I thought it was off of the subtotal before coupons and she said, ‘Well, that’s the way I do it and management agrees”. She was polite about it but firm. I did not offer an arguement, I only let her know that this was not my understanding of how these coupons work and wanted to get a final answer as to how they work. She called over a manager and the manager informed me that the cashier was right but they would go ahead and run the coupon before my others THIS time. I told her that I was not complaining at all, I was just trying to educate myself on how these coupons are handled because I was told something different. They were all very nice and there was no ‘scene’ over it at all.
My wife went for a trip later in the day to use some coupons that she had just gotten. She went to a different cashier and he automatically took the thunder coupon before running the others. No problem.
So, management MAY have desided to accept these coupons one way and a few of the cashiers may have their own take on it but in the end, this is up to the cashier you pick. It is not programmed in their system to keep that coupon from running before your others. The cashier that did not want run the thunder coupon first is the one that is usually closest to the main doors of the store (register one?) You probably know who i’m talking about if you have been in there. She is very polite and professional about her job and will not think twice before going out of her way to help you… like stopping in the middle of a transaction to find out when an item will be in stock, whatever. She is very very good, but she does not run the thunder coupon the way we want her to.
Hi Carrie,
I have a question… I have read the Homeland Q policy… Ran into this today at the one on Robinson… I was purchasing 3 Hamburger Helper… Wanted to use the $.75 off / 3… and then I had a Q for Free Macaroni Grill when you buy 3 Hamburger Helper… I assumed that the $.75 would go for the Hamburger Helper and the other Q would go on the Macaroni Grill Product… Wasn’t allowed to do it that way…. Just wondering if the cashier was correct… or if I was right in my thinking… Thanks again for your classes and your boxes… Love mine….
Unfortunately, the .55 Hiland ice cream coupon is a DND (“Do Not Double) so the ice cream will not be $1.89; it will be $2.44. All the Hiland coupons from their web site are DND.
It seems to be a cashier/store by cashier/store issue…Robinson is the absolute last store I will visit for ANYTHING as their cashiers are VERY RUDE to those who use coupons. Your thinking was correct as the wording on both coupons allows for them to be used. I am sorry you ran into this and highly suggest the Lindsey store!
)
New to couponing. To get the best deal, I should have a coupon for every like item, Homeland or mfr? and only the first mfr will double.
I don’t know how long the sale is going to last, but the Homeland on Kickapoo in Shawnee has some packages of Pampers diapers on clearance for $5.81 and if you have the $2 off coupon, that makes it $3.81. The packages I saw were the size 1 and 2 of the Pampers sensitive and the size 4 and 5 of the extra protection night time diapers. Either way, the packs are super cheap.
I have gotten a little discouraged. I got to Homeland by 11 on Thursday and all but the bbq sauce sales that make it free to buy are already gone. Sometimes makes you feel like some people sit and wait until the doors open and get all the great sale item. Sorry I just had to vent.
I feel your pain, couponing is really fun except when the store is out of what you came for even on the first day of the sale.
I have often wondered if people sit outside the Yukon Walgreens waiting for 12:01 AM to come around and then go in and raid the store of all of the sales. This is a 24 hour store. I have gone after church on Sunday many times and at 12 in the afternoon the shelves are bare of certain items.
I used to work at Walgreens, and yes, They do. Walgreens’s sales cycle so regularly that you can pretty much predict them. (especially the make-up.) Just ask for a rain check. And if the item is supposed to print out a R.R. ask the manager to make a note of it on the rain check so that they can do a price override on your total when they get the item back in stock, AND, if they can’t get the item back in-stock before your coupon expires you can ask the manager to call other Walgreen’s stores and find one that has your item.
Carrie- I’ve been saving my coupons for about three- four weeks and tonight I went on my first “couponing”shopping trip at the homeland on North May. I saved 47$ total, but I’m having trouble interpreting my receipt. I was hoping you could do a post on how to read your homeland receipt or direct me to a similar post? Thanks in advance!

Carrie,
I went to the Homeland in Edmond at Daforth and Bryant today. The cashier informed me of a change in their coupon policy, starting today. She was not very clear on the change herself but she said that they could only accept printed coupons that clearly have that shaded picture behind the value of the coupon. I happened to have three that she didn’t think she could see very clearly. I explained that when you print in grey scale it is just going to be harder to see those. I shop there all the time and she recogised me so she decided to take them, thank goodness! I am probably going to up the print quality and maybe even print in color now because you can see those markings really well that way.
I just wanted to share my experiance so others don’t run into this problem!
Thanks,
Tami
maybe someone already posted something about it but it shown on weekly deals two no fat cans of pringles for .50 a piece. They are not
just the regular ones are on sale. It’s all good though! Got lots of other great deals.
Peelie Alert. Last night I was at the Homeland on Reno and Mustang. There were .55/1 coupons attached to the Stove Top Stuffing. Since Stove Top is on sale this week for $1.25 after the coupons doubles, you can buy a box for $0.15.
Where do you get the Kellogg’s Holiday Booklet?
I purchased an Entertainment 2012 Coupon Book through ebates last week for $28.00. I had just signed up for ebates, so I received a free $10 Target gift card for placing the order, plus I got almost $10 back. ebates offers 35% cash back on this purchase. I just received the book today and there are 4 $5 off $50 purchase coupons in the book. Holy cow!!! Yay!!
I was wondering how you get the Homeland care booklet…??
I noticed on the Homeland shoppping list for this week you had listed a country crock coupon from your Jan all you mag p 99. I got my in the mail and there is no coupon on page 99. I couldn’t find a country crock coupon at all in the magazine.
I think I meant December. Sorry!
It takes some time to compile all the savings and you help to make it ease. I wish I could thank you in person. Thank you , Thank you, Thank you.
The manuf. coupon on the pompeian vinegar didn’t have a price on it, it was a smartsource coupon and it makes me nervous trying to use it, it has a scan bar on it though, will this still work?
Just FYI the Homeland on Reno in Yukon will no longer accept coupons on any claranced or marked down item.
I was at Homeland earlier and picked up everything on my list for the week. I picked up 14 items and had a 70% savings. I paid $13.10 for my groceries, with a saving of $28.08. Thank you for the list.
The HUB Mission Ministry still has Homeland C.A.R.E. booklets for sale! Give us a call if you are interested: 405.706.8764.
