Can you use multiple coupons on one item, like in your huggies example?

    • Natalie - May 15, 2011 @ 7:35 pm

      Patty,
You asked if you could use multiple coupons on the Huggies deal. The only way to use more than one manufacture coupon is if you buy more that one of that item. You buy 2 Huggies, you can use 2 manufacture coupons. When I was a newbie at couponing just a few short months ago I could not fathom how a person could get several items for just a minimal amount of money. I have learned that you must wait for a good sale and then match it up with coupons.

I’m still learning this but just ran into my first issue at Walgreens. I bought the 3 for $10 Gillette bodywash and used the $2 off each that was in todays paper. I then tried to get the 3 free deodorants from the 5/1 paper but was told they couldn’t take $4.99 off the deodorant because I didn’t pay that much for the bodysoap. I would have had to pay about $1.75 per deodorant. I didn’t realize when you get a free item when you buy one that the price of it has to be less than the first item. Does this makes sense? I can’t complain because I walked in the store with $15, bought 3 body washes, a dove deodorant, and 2 boxes of brownies and when I left I had $9 in cash and $6 in register rewards so I still have $15 but I don’t get how it happened. The Dove should have been free with printable coupon and $3 RR, the body wash by itself was 3 for $10 and I had $2 off each making it $4 plus a $3 RR. I also bought 2 things of brownies. The brownies I should have had to pay $1 per box because they didn’t have the Duncan Hines but substituted Betty Crocker but then I couldn’t use my .50 off coupon. I should have been out $3. That transaction confused me.

I was able to get the deodorant for free at the Walgreens in Tri-City. I didn’t have any problem. Did you take a copy of the coupon policy? I haven’t printed it out yet and thankfully I didn’t have to use it.

David – I’m confused.. Can u type up your reciept on here? Maybe in this format?

Dove deodorant – price – then list the number of coupons and how much off they were for

Then how much your subtotal and tax were.. And total
    Etc…

  • Jordana - May 19, 2011 @ 8:40 am

you have to pay tax on the price of all the items before coupons. i find that this can add up to a few dollars here and there that sometimes i forget to account for.
so for three body washes you paid .80 in tax plus 4.00 after coupons
    dove deodorant was .24
    and brownie mix was 2.16
that totals 7.20 and you would get 6rr
tax varies and i dont know where you live but this was just 8% for example.
    does this help?
also i have no idea why you wouldnt have been able to get free deodorant w body wash. i did this deal at homeland last week when body wash was 2.33 and i used the 2/1 bodywash and free deo and got both items for 0.33.
